Exploring physical beauty and spiritual depth through artistic collaboration.
“Faces & Phases” (2017) was a traveling exhibit of oil paintings and hand-painted mannequins by artist Barbara Graff. My role spanned art direction for the makeup and wigs, costume design, styling, and overseeing the show’s various installations across New York City and the Hudson Valley.
Barbara and I first connected while working for Rootstein Mannequins, renowned for its handcrafted, lifelike figures that revolutionized the industry. Drawing from the success of our client-commissioned projects, we decided to work on something more personal. The exhibition captured our shared admiration for gracefully aging women, the mysteries of the spirit, and the wonders of natural world.
